About Ian

Ian Graves is a sitting city councilor from the sixth ward in Prairie Village. He took office in January of 2020 and is running for re-election this year in November. Ian attended the University of Missouri for his undergraduate degree and doctorate in Computer Science and has worked in various roles in tech since attending university. He currently works on a popular open-source software project for a well-known tech company.

Ian was born in Kansas City, Missouri, and he grew up in Lee's Summit. After leaving home, he lived in Columbia for college and then briefly for two years in the Portland, Oregon metro (Hillsboro, Oregon) for work.

Ian lives at home in PV with his wife, Amanda, three children, Ira, Rachel, and Daphne, and the family dog, Vega.
